This year, Amazon Filters started our partnership with Community Matters Partnership (CMPP) to enable our staff to volunteer their time to help out in the community.
We've participated in several really worthwhile days already, and on Wednesday another team went out to volunteer - doing gardening, maintenance work and painting a shed at our local Phyllis Tuckwell hospice in Farnham. Although a little chilly, they were lucky to have the sun shining on them whilst they did some fantastic work.
This was Alexandra's second volunteer day. "I thoroughly enjoyed the day completing garden maintenance and all painting a shed together as a team. It’s a brilliant way of getting to know other employees of Amazon who you don’t work with on a day-to-day basis, whilst helping out and supporting an important charity. I hope the work we all completed makes a difference to Phyllis Tuckwell and I would highly recommend the volunteer days."
Vincent added "I really enjoyed the day, despite having a cold and feeling a little rough; I think the fresh air did me good and I got to know my colleagues a little better. The Staff at Phyllis Tuckwell care were so friendly and thanked us throughout the day for the work we were doing. It's amazing what a small group of people can do both physically and mentally when given such an opportunity to help others."
